COVER
SONGS

I received my first guitar (Sears Silvertone Flat Top) at the age of 11 for Christmas of 1964.  Once I learned the basic chords (majors, minors, sevenths), a friend showed me the chords to the Beatles' version of Twist and Shout.  That was all it took.  From then on, learning to play top ten songs from the radio or from my vinyl collection came rather easily.  God had gifted me with a unique musical talent to hear a song and quickly figure out the chords.  Click on the "COVER SONGS" link to learn more about my cover songs.

Yes, that's me in the pic to the right in 1975 with long hair and my Fender 12-string wearing black socks with sandals.  How groovy!

ORIGINAL
SONGS

Once I learned what chords go with what chords (the 1-4-5), I was ready to write my own songs.  Writing a song did not seem like a very difficult thing to do.  So in 1969 at age 15, I wrote my first song about a crush I had on a girl named Beverly.  It consisted of 4 chords and titled "Dedicated to Her."  Every songwriter has to have his/her first song.  This one was mine.  Since then I have written about 90 songs.  Some songs I consider absolute trash.  Other songs I had to collaborate with a friend for lyrics because I just couldn't come up with the right words.  But in every original song, the music was always all mine.  Click on the "ORIGINAL SONGS" link to learn more about my original songs.

I signed and dated just about every song I ever wrote.  The pic to the left shows the original writing of the song "I Always Fall in Love" - a song I wrote on June 17, 1975.  This song is actually a true story about 21-year-old me!

ANALOG
TAPE
RECORDINGS

Todd Rundgren's Something Anything album was a huge inspiration in my life.  The fact that one extremely talented individual (Todd) played every instrument and recorded all this great music in his home studio made me think.  Could I possibly do the same thing?  In February of 1974, I decided to buy a TEAC 3340s, 4-track, 10½" reels, 15ips, multi-sync, reel-to-reel tape deck (see pic).  I traveled to Pittsburgh and found one at an Audio Warehouse store.  I paid $900 for this machine and, to save money on state taxes, I had it shipped to my apartment in Waynesboro, VA.

I did most of my audio tape recordings between February of 1974 through March of 1976.  Some of my recordings feature friends who allowed me to record their songs and musical talents.  But I slowly gave up this hobby when I got married in July of 1976.  The good news is I kept all those tapes and digitized many of the songs to forever have those memories — now without wow and flutter and broken tape.  Click on the "Analog Tape" link to learn more about these old audio recordings.

CDs

I am a very OCD-organized type of person.  Therefore, I needed to organize all my recorded songs in some fashion.  So I categorized them by original songs (digital), cover songs (digital), and then analog tape recordings, and then placed them into groups of 10 which I call CDs.  It's just easier for me to remember them this way.

I presently have 8 CDs — five completed and three in progress.  The digital CDs are "Hiding Broken Hearts" (10 original songs); "Stepping Back" (10 cover songs); "Second Dance" (10 original songs); "Many Years Ago" (10 cover songs); "The Loop" (8 cover songs); "Closer to Glory" (4 spiritual songs)"; and Just One Kiss" (3 original songs).  I also have one CD "Digging Up the Past" of old analog tape recordings.  Click on the "CDs" link to learn more about these eight CDs.

MUSIC
VIDEOS

Many times I felt more appreciation for a song if it had an interesting music video to go along with it.  For instance I always thought the video to "What Might Have Been" by Little Texas was an excellent music video and made me like the song all that much more.  And videos from the 80s like "Centerfold" by the J. Giles Band or "Take on Me" by A-Ha are so memorable that one will never forget them.  So, yes, that is what I would like to create—a video so memorable that no one could ever forget it.  I continue to pursue that goal.

I presently have a music video for about 30 of my recorded songs.  Click on the "MUSIC VIDEOS" link to watch a video or two of my recorded songs.

LSP

I started Limitless Studio Productions (LSP) for me to have an avenue to publicly make available all my work I have created over the years as a musician.  This includes all the music (originals and covers) I have recorded over the years (both analog and digital).  So to consolidate it all in one location, I developed this website www.music.limitlessstudio.org.

Please note that I do not and will not ever charge a dime for any of my work on this site.  Please take and use what you want.  If you do, I simply ask you give me credit where credit is due.  I do all this for the sole pleasure of something to do in my retirement years and hopefully give you, the listener, the joy of being entertained musically.  I hope you enjoy my music and that it can brighten up your day in some small way.

Limitless Studio Productions (LSP) is not an official company or business.  It's simply a name I came up with and it sounded good!
